Application Process

Your application marks the first step into a competition that values not only achievement, but also artistic development and growth.

Step 1 — Check Eligibility 

The competition is open to cellists of all nationalities up to the age of 30 — born after 27th of June 1996.

Step 2 — Register & Pay 

Applications open: August 15th 2026 at 12.00 pm (CET)
Application deadline: October 25th 2026 at 23.59 pm (CET)
Applicants first register their name and e-mail address, after which they will be directed to the payment page and the full application form.
Application fee: 100 EUR, payable by credit card during the online registration process.

Step 3 — Submit Your Materials 

As part of the online application, candidates must submit:

A portrait photograph of the applicant
A photograph of the applicant's passport
Video recordings of the applicant performing the required works as specified. You can find the application repertoire here
A short curriculum vitae
A selection of the repertoire the applicant will perform in the competition based on the repertoire requirements

Step 4 — Select Repertoire

Applicants will be informed in January 2027 whether they have been selected by the pre-jury to participate in the Danish International Cello Competition of 2027.

Selected applicants must confirm whether they accept the invitation to participate no later than 10 days after receiving their official invitation. In case of withdrawal, candidates from the reserve list will be invited based on results.
