The Danish International Cello Competition is hosted by the Danish Philharmonic Orchestra, one of Denmark's leading symphony orchestras, based at the Concert Hall Alsion in Sønderborg.
In addition to collaborating with renowned conductors and soloists, the orchestra is lead by Chief Conductor Christian Øland, with Guest Conductor Henrik Schaefer and Honorary Guest Conductor Alevtina Ioffe.
The Danish Philharmonic Orchestra performs a wide symphonic repertoire, playing a key role in shaping the musical life of the Southern Danish border region and reaches audiences across Denmark and Germany.

Adam Stadnicki is the Music Director of the orchestra, a professional cellist, and the principal lead of the Danish International Cello Competition. Stadnicki has won several music competitions and is a highly educated elite cellist graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen, La Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, as well as the Manhattan School of Music in New York.
Concert Hall Alsion is the central venue of the Danish International Cello Competition, providing cellists with a modern setting and exceptional acoustics.
